SUMMARY:

Repairs, installs and maintains school heating and cooling systems and related equipment to ensure smooth operation of the educational program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Repairs and maintains all types of air conditioning and refrigeration units
• Repairs and maintains gas, hot water and hot air furnaces
• Repairs and maintain air handlers, ventilators, cooling coils and radiators, other mechanical heating and ventilating equipment as required
• Monitors and coordinates control panels and thermostats of all systems to maintain standard working temperatures
• Performs regular preventive maintenance and boiler water treatment programs for all heating and air conditioning equipment
• Installs and tests new equipment to ensure optimal working conditions
• Orders materials and maintains inventory of parts needed for routine maintenance and repair
• Investigates and recommends to the Maintenance Supervisor areas where breakdowns may occur, hazards or areas where improvements Adheres to all safety and code requirements of National, State, local and Board of Education guidelines
• Demonstrates responsibility for the safety of others, for materials, and for equipment
